Dr. Tina Srode-Fries has been a teacher for the Boyertown Area School District for 29 years. Srode-Fries is a graduate of BASH and Gettysburg College, where she completed a Bachelors of Arts in Sociology, and a minor in Education.
She obtained her Masters in School Leadership from Villanova University, and she completed her doctorate in the area of reading at Widener University.
Srode-Fries taught fourth grade at Gilbertsville Elementary and then she went on to tea the gifted program for grades third, fourth, fifth and sixth for all the district elementaries.
Dr. Srode-Fries now teaes the gifted program at Middle School West for grades 6, 7 & 8 as well as co-teaching the gifted 5th graders from all the elementary schools.
Dr. Tina has often gone the extra mile to be the advisor of student council, a leader of special events, like the BES Fun Run. Over the years, Dr. Tina has served as a coach for the district for the Venzke Relays, the West lacrosse team and the Boyertown High School winter track team.
Passionate about health and fitness, Dr. Tina has been a member of the wellness committee and an advocate for wellness among students and staff. Dr. Tina has also been a fitness instructor for the Boyertown YMCA for over 25 years. She co-created the Fun on the Run program to prepare young students for a 5K.
She continues to share the love of fitness at Boyertown West, by helping with the Road Warriors program. Known for spreading her sparkle, Dr. Srode-Fries is the advisor for the spirit club at Middle School West, and a proponent for the Optimist Club’s Optimist Contests.
Dr. Tina’s every day mission is to uplift others and empower them to reach their goals. Dr. Tina is married to a fellow educator extraordinaire, Dan Fries.
They have two lovely children Skyler and Chloe Fries. Dr. Tina is grateful for this award and feels strongly that her students and her colleagues inspire her to be the best she can be.
